The Filipino Women’s league was founded in 1970 by Dr. Cora Manayan. She had a concern for Hawaii’s Filipino plantation workers found isolated in dilapidated living quarters in poor health and the youth.
Scholarships
The Filipino Women’s League offers scholarships to Hawaii high school seniors of Filipino heritage. An additional scholarship in the memory of Estrellita Taguba Ebersole is also being offered.
