To mark 55 years of service and cultural advocacy, the Filipino Women’s League (FWL) has awarded $20,000 in FWL Community Scholarships
to Hawaiʻi students pursuing higher education. Five graduating seniors each received a $4,000 FWL Community Scholarship:.
> Amalia Abigania, Kauai High School
> Joelle Angelica Evasco, Waianae High School
> Krizelle Nicolette Busto, Waipahu High School
> Briana Nepomuceno, Campbell High School
> Lovely Ysabelle Valencia, Farrington High School
FWL also administers the Estrellita Taguba Ebersole Scholarship on behalf of the Ebersole and Taguba families.This $2,000 memorial award honors Estrellita Taguba Ebersole’s legacy of service and commitment to education.
2025 recipient: Chloe Julian Matro, Kalaheo High School.

achievement, honoring heritage, and opening doors to opportunity,“
FWL is dedicated to promoting understanding and appreciation of Filipino heritage through
community programs and outreach across the Hawaiian Islands.
